Director of Programs

Position Overview
The Director of Programs will work under the supervision of the Executive Director to develop and manage all organizational programs. This is a full time position with benefits. Please email your resume and cover letter to by December 9th for consideration.

Key Responsibilities
-Identify, seek, plan, and facilitate programs and services that are consistent with Arbor Place’s mission and values
-Provide oversight and management of the organization’s afterschool program
-Provide oversight and management of the organization’s off site programs
-Plan, schedule, and direct daily routines, activities, and operations
-Monitor and measure programmatic outcomes to evaluate success
-Develop community partnerships that support and enhance the delivery of quality programs in the areas of faith development, student learning, family engagement and neighborhood outreach; including but not limited to volunteers, nonprofit agencies, and donors
-Plan, implement, and participate in Arbor Place sponsor events when needed
-Maintain student membership and evaluate student growth
-Maintain physical operations of the building in partnership of the Executive Director
-Provide supervision and leadership to programming staff, interns, and volunteers
-Create weekly staff schedules
-Prepare and submit required reports as needed
-Write and submit funding requests for program specific purposes
-Facilitate regular outreach for program development
-Serve as an advocate for youth, families, and neighborhood residents
-Provide professional development and training for staff and parents
-Speak publicly about The Mix at Arbor Place’s programs and mission
-Integrate spiritual development into programmatic activities
-Assist Executive Director in setting and managing programmatic budget
-Provide oversight and support to programmatic grants including DMC, Strong African American Families, Lancaster County Community Foundation

Critical Skills/Abilities
-Bachelor’s Degree required (Human resources, education, social work, or related field preferred)
-Has a minimum of 5 years experience in working directly with youth in social services, youth related services, child care, education, or related fields
-Grant writing experience is a plus
-Minimum of 2 years of experience in supervising staff
-Excellent written and oral communication skills; the ability to use these skills to communicate effectively with youth, staff, parents, and community partners
-Excellent interpersonal skills
-Strong comprehensive leadership skills
